Trade Contribution -Multi skilling for Rural & Semi-urban areas for Food & Beverage Technology

CRISP is an autonomous registered body supported by the Governments of Germany and Madhya Pradesh. It was one of the initiatives  taken  as part of the Indo-German Technical Co-operation agreement. Today, CRISP has extension centers in Parvorim, Goa as well as in Gandhinagar, Gujrat. The infrastructure of CRISP includes CNC machines, CAD/CAM facilities, Pneumatic, Hydraulics and Robotics labs, Programmable Logic Controllers, Electrical Drive Systems, Electronics and Electrical Maintenance workshops, an Information Technology Centre as well as modern
testing lab which has machines like Ultrasonic Flaw Detector and a Surface Toughness Tester.

CRISP has conducted a large number of training programmes for technicians engineers from the industry and for trainers from technical institutions. Of late, CRISP has tied up with Siemens and conducts its authorized training programmes on Programmable Logic Contollers, Man-Machine Interface and AC/DC drives.  ‘Multi-Skilling’ is an important concept for CRISP. The organization has successfully explored the possibility of teaching a package of related skills so that young technical persons have options in the ever-changing job market. Multi-skilling in ‘Automobile Repair’ for instance, equips  trainees to deal with tractors, jeeps as well as motorcycles and two-wheelers. This concept has been particularly useful for rural technicians who find that the demand for skills is invariably seasonal and linked to the different phase of farming activities. Apart from technical training, CRISP has been providing consultancy services on Product Designing, Process control and software Development.Clients have included the Heavy Engineering Group, Gajra Gears. CRISP also does a significant amount of job-work for some of
these firms as also for BHEL, Crompton Greaves and CG Elin. Its linkage with the manufacturing sector is clearly robust. The CRISP Information Technology Centre has been involved with training in the areas of Library automation, Internet and Web Page Designing  as well as Multimedia. The organization also conducts training and offers consultancy services in the areas of Behavioural Science and Enterpreneurship Development.
